Three Maywood honour students were awarded $1,500 scholarships during the May General Meeting of the Maywood Chamber of Commerce on Monday, 21 May 2012, 12:00 noon at Triton College, Building B, Room 210, 2000 5th Avenue, River Grove, Illinois.
Kathleen I. Carani, Chairman of the Maywood Chamber Academic Excellence Program, directed the presentation ceremony. Students included:
- Stacey Welch—Proviso East High School—Michigan State University—Business;
- Nancy Martinez—Proviso Math & Science Academy—University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign—Business;
- Maurice Wilson—Walther Lutheran High School—Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University—Space Physics;
- General Assembly—Ashante White—Illinois State University of Western Illinois—Education.
A large turnout of honorees, parents, friends, and Chamber Members were present to receive a warm welcome from Triton President, Dr. Patricia Granados, and to enjoy a delicious luncheon, prepared by Triton’s famed Culinary Department.
